Swinging | Swinging Voter Emily Has Her Say

AN SBS program aims to take the temperature of our electorate in the lead-up to the Federal election, and Mackay’s Emily Cullen, 24, will play a part as a representative of Dawson’s swinging voters.
Emily appeared on Insight last week, and will continue to voice her opinion on three more shows before the election.
Insight presenter Jenny Brockie said in the run up to August 21, Insight had recruited a group of swinging voters to follow the campaign.
“They’re a lively and eclectic group, from the most marginal electorates in the country,” Ms Brockie said.
“Each week they’ll be giving a frank assessment, on air and online, about the leaders and their policies.”
“At this stage these voters are genuinely undecided; they’re a great barometer of public opinion and will have plenty to say about the election campaign; it will be up to the politicians to win them over.”
Emily works in her family’s auto-electrical business which services the mining industry, and she is a part-time university student. She said being on the show was a great experience and she believes she is getting her point across.
