Home News News in East Ayrshire Kilmarnock Standard News Jail for stab threat man Jul 2 2010 A KILMARNOCK man who told a group of children that he was going to stab their fathers and later dropped his trousers and exposed himself has been removed from the sex offenders register.But 22-year-old Peter O’Brien was jailed for 120 days last week.O’Brien, of Fultons Lane, previously pleaded guilty to committing a breach of the peace in Gainford Place, Kilmarnock, in April.At that stage he was placed on the sex offenders register. Kilmarnock Sheriff Court earlier heard that O’Brien went to a house in Gainford Place around 2.30pm.As he made his way to the front door, he passed a 12-year-old girl who was with some friends.And he told them: “I’m going to f***ing stab your fathers.When the householder answered the door, he said: “Get your f***ing man out here because I’m going to stab him.”O’Brien left when he was asked to do so, but repeated his threat as he passed the children.Said Laura Archbold, prosecuting: “Whilst making his way, he dropped his trousers and exposed his bottom to the children in the garden.”His actions meant that his private parts were also “on show”, she said.Police arrived to find O’Brien leaving out the window of a neighbouring house, shouting abuse and making indecent gestures.He continued to be verbally abusive after he was arrested.Allan Kerr, defending, said that the incident followed an earlier misunderstanding between his client and the woman involved.O’Brien, he said, had been visiting friends whose back garden adjoined the woman’s.Said the solicitor: “His friend’s dog had a fight with the complainer’s dog.”The woman “wrongly thought” that the dog belonged to O’Brien and a verbal exchange followed.Mr Kerr said that O’Brien had been drinking throughout the day and, O’Brien had only a vague recollection of events and had been “oblivious” to the presence of children in the garden.”As he was leaving the scene he decided to carry out actions which he described as
