Female Sex | Increase Female Sex Drive, A Revival Guide
January 8, 2010 – 1:20 pm
Women is of course a unique creation. They have a built in natural increase in the desire for sex beginning just prior to ovulation, and lasting several days afterwards — not coincidentally, the only time of the month conception is possible. You will probably notice that when ovulation stops, your regularly scheduled boost in your sex drive disappears. However, take heart, there is nothing wrong with you, it’s just the way nature works. Even low estrogen level in blood, around menopause, causes low sex drive.
Reviving Your Sex Drive
While male sex drive is easy to define — and relatively easy to restore — that’s often not the case for women. Because the female sex drive is multi-factorial, the desire to make love is not only influenced by physical issues, but emotional ones as well.
As both physical and emotional reasons are a part of the desire to make love, any emotional issue in a woman’s life causes her sex drive to be multidimensional, making a difference. Though emotions are mostly the reasons behind the loss of sex drive in younger women, doctors blame on the aging process which causes changes in desire in women over age 45.
Do not loose heart, there are ways to revive your low sex drive, making you experiencing enhanced sex drive. Here’ a list of all the things you can do:
Eating for your libido: warming and pungent foods have been known to motivate the body’s fire energy: garlic, onion, scallion, leek, chives, ginger, cinnamon, fennel, cardamom, anise, turmeric, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and horseradish. Deep sea and cold water fish, including halibut, salmon, sardines, and shellfish can increase libido by improving overall sexual health with their high concentrations of essential omega fatty acids.
Take a blood test for low thyroid functions and iron deficiency anemia, two common disorders that can affect sex drive.
Check your depression factor – which can affect libido. Some anti-depressant medication can dampen sex drive.
Localized estrogen therapy involves placing estrogen directly into the vagina, soothing the vaginal tissue, and allowing secretions necessary for comfortable sex and possibly even increasing in sexual desire.
Compounded testosterone cream, many compounding pharmacies (they make medicines from scratch) offer testosterone creams and gels, but you’ll need a doctor’s prescription.
Vitamin E: Using this vitamin helps in rehydrating tissue and increases sensation.
Zestra: A small, placebo-controlled trial published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy in 2003 showed that when used as genital massage oil, this proprietary blend of botanicals (including borage seed and evening primrose oils, Angelica root and vitamins C and E) provided a statistically significant increase in arousal, desire, genital stimulation, ability to orgasm, and pleasure.
ArginMax: It increases sexual desire and satisfaction twice than that of the women using placebo.
Remember that it is always advisable to consult your physician before taking any drugs or supplements. Just because your sex drive is different, doesn’t mean there is something wrong or that you can’t fix it.
